Fossil to Add LTE in Its Next-Gen Smartwatch

The news broke out with the FCC filing, where a model named C1NF1 under the flagship of Fossil has emerged. According to this Fossil’s filing to FCC, the new Fossil smartwatch (under the C1NF1 model) supports LTE 2,4, 12, and 13 bands. This smartwatch will also carry connectivity features, including Bluetooth, NFC, and Wi-Fi. In the current scenario, there is no information on battery capacity. But, as per the details available, the new smartwatch is tested with an APP00310 battery. This battery has a configuration of 2.85Vdc and a 0.4Ah power rating.

What does it mean by adding LTE?

The addition of LTE decreases the user’s reliance on the smartphone. As a result, it enhances the user’s mobility and lets the user move with a smartwatch. Because LTE supports packet switching, it allows the exchange of voice and data. Hence, the user will be able to take calls and respond to text messages. But now Qualcomm has an upgraded variant – Snapdragon Wear 4100. Hence, many users will speculate that this new processor from Qualcomm will become the core equipment in the next Fossil smartwatch. The new Qualcomm smartwatch processor has a 25% better battery life and faster LPDDR3 memory than its last predecessor and is based-on 12 nm technology.
